Yes, I know the name doesn't quite match my holistic, gentle way of life, but much to my surprise, I absolutely LOVE the Beachbody brand and their at-home, on demand workout platform.
Over the past 10+ years I have been running, walking, practicing yoga, and thought I was pretty fit. Well, when a friend introduced me to Beachbody and I tried out a fun workout program that used small weights, cardio, push-ups, etc., I quickly realized that I was NOT as fit as I thought! So, I jumped right into using Beachbody workouts just about everyday, and I became much more fit, stronger, and healthier because of these workouts.

As an accountability coach, I run Wellness and Challenge Groups a couple times per year. It looks as if it may be a month or more before having professional facials will be possible again at Kelly Gorsuch Wellness because of the current health crisis and mandatory closing of "non-essential" businesses in New Hampshire until at least through May 4th.
So, what's the best way to keep your skin fresh and beautiful?
Try an at-home facial!
All you need is an effective cleanser, an exfoliator, understand some lymph stimulation techniques, a nourishing mask, and of course some amazing day care products. Throw in use of a Gua Sha or jade roller tool, and voila, you have all you need for an at-home facial!
Suggested At-Home Facial Protocol:
Because I use Dr. Hauschka Skin Care in my practice, I highly recommend their products. However, any high quality skin care line will work.
Step 1 - Cleanse the Face, Neck, and Decollete (upper chest area) - use a gentle creamy cleanser to begin to soften the skin and prepare it for exfoliation.
Step 2 - Warm the skin to open the pores and soften the skin cells. The warm steam and water from a shower is great for this, or you can steam the face over a bowl of hot water with a towel draped over your head, or use warm, damp face compresses to heat the skin.
Step 3 - Exfoliate (I prefer clay-based masks) to remove the dead skin cells ready to be exfoliated*, and the draw impurities out of the pores. I love Dr. Hauschka's Cleansing Clay Mask, however Beautycounter makes a great clay mask, or another clean clay mask will do. If using a clay mask, leave mask on for 3 to 10 minutes - read the directions on the label for usage directions. In general, less time for more sensitive skin, and a longer time for oily skin.
Step 5 - Rinse off and remove mask.
Step 6 - Tone the skin with a toner/hydrosol
Step 7 - Use a nourishing mask to treat the skin based on skin type. I love any of Dr. Hauschka's Masks - Hydrating, Firming, Soothing, or Revitalizing. Leave on 20-minutes, then rinse or remove with warm compresses.
Step 8 - If it is the day time, finish your facial with a toner, serum, day cream or moisturizer, and eye cream. If it's night time, just use a toner, and perhaps a night moisturizer/cream.
I suggest performing this at-home facial once per month. You can also use an exfoliation process twice per week for most skin conditions. If your skin is more sensitive (prone to redness and irritation), then exfoliation once per week may be tolerated.

*Excessive exfoliation (more than 1 or 2 times per week), or harsh chemical exfoliating products, remove dead skin cells AND new skin cells. Too much exfoliation can lead to pre-mature aging, and disrupts your skin natural renewal process so you become more reliant on repeated exfoliation.
